Powers to Arrest & Weapons of Mass Destruction Course - 8 hours (Module A)

Please call to register for the course. Classes are held Monday through Friday @ 9am. Online certification is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.This course is a mandatory training class prior to being assigned to a post. The course will teach students the skills necessary to apply for a guard card with the Department of Consumer Affairs - Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS).

This course also satisfy the 8-hour annual refresher course. Proof of Identification must be presented during the class (Current Driver License or State Identification Card).

Mandatory Skill and Training Courses for Security Guards (AB 2880)

Classes are held by appointments only.

Every newly licensed or employed security guard shall complete two of the mandatory courses within thirty (30) days from the day the guard's registration card is issued (8 hours) or the day the guard begins employment. The remaining two mandatory courses each consisting of four (4) hours of instruction, shall be completed within the first six (6) months from the day the guard registration card is issued or the day the guard begins employment as a security guard.

A certificate of completion will be awarded upon completion of the modules.
