POLICE ACADEMY FIREARM TRAINING PREPARATION COURSE (Pistol)

Location: Angeles Shooting Ranges (Fort Angeles Private Range)

This course will prepare you to qualify and pass the required courses of fire during the police academy semi-automatic pistol training and qualification. Students will receive the same firearms training and qualification conducted in police academies required by POST (PC 832 format).

The course will cover the following subjects:

• Handgun Familiarization
• Handgun Safety
• Care, Cleaning and Storage
• Handgun Shooting Principles
• Firearms Range Qualifications

We can provide the firearm, two (2) magazines, and holsters if needed ($15 rental fee), but students can utilize their own firearm (9mm or .40 caliber only).

Required Range Equipment:

One (1) semi-automatic pistol; two(2) magazines; firearm and magazine holster OR full duty gear; eye and hearing protection; 250 rounds of ammunition; drinks for hydration and snacks. Students must wear jeans or BDU long pants, long sleeve shirt; athletic shoes or hiking boots.
